Even if it’s raining, we are training!
Seneca Hose Company #1, November 15
12 members staffed for duty shift this evening, completed cleaning and station maintenance, as well as multiple training evolutions to include driver training with Track Vehicle-1, auto extrication, struts and stabilization.

Ladder 6 responds as the FAST Team with Sloan
November 04
On Tuesday, November 5th, Seneca Hose was requested for a FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) mutual aid to Sloan for the structure fire on Boll Street.
Ladder 6 responded with 6 firefighters and softened the structure and surrounding area upon arrival. Multiple ground ladders were thrown to the 2nd floor as a means of egress in the event of a firefighter emergency on the 2nd floor. Ladder ... (Full Story & Photos)

FAST Team In Service!

We have some exciting news to share! Seneca Hose, West Seneca Fire District #5 is officially going online as a FAST Team on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025!
A firefighter assist and search team (FAST), also known as a (rapid intervention team/rapid intervention crew, RIT/RIC), is a team of two or more firefighters dedicated solely to the search and rescue of other firefighters in distress.

Member Training Completion
June 25
We would like to send kudos to some of our outstanding members who have recently completed some great training expanding our capabilities and service to the community.
Lt. D. Tasca and FF K. Anderson in completion of the NYS Pump Operator course, both are now working on internal department training.

Crews Out in Our Community!
June 23
This has been a great weekend at Seneca Hose, members broke out the shine and polish to make sure the rigs shined for the Community Days parade before heading back out for a night of fireworks.
Members ensured the safety of event goers and the surrounding neighborhood during the Community Day fireworks staffing Engine 1 and Rescue 5.

F.A.S.T. Team at Seneca Hose
May 28
Members have been hard at work the last few months training on FAST Team operations. FAST, or Firefighter Assist and Search Team, is a group or firefighters who standby ready to assist and help firefighters who may become trapped or in need of assistance.
Seneca Hose will be online starting July 15th, 2025 as a FAST Team once members have received the necessary training and in-services on new equipment.... (Full Story & Photos)

Propane Emergency on Benson Ave
April 24
Seneca Hose was recently dispatched to a propane emergency on Benson Ave off of Seneca. Seneca Hose Engine 2 arrived and found a large propane tank that was just filled actively leaking from a pin hole in the top side of the tank. Engine 2 requested Erie County's Hazmat Team to assist with mitigating the hazard as well as Reserve Fire to assist with evacuating the lower half of Benson Ave.... (Full Story & Photos)
