Ladder goes Mutual Aid to Vigilant
March 01
Ladder 6 was requested on the second alarm mutual aid to Vigilant Fire Company for a fire in an attached garage. Upon arrival, units found heavy fire conditions in the garage of an occupied residence, with the flames spreading to a neighboring house.

Coffee Bar Overhaul

In most Firehouses across the United States, the kitchen table, or back of the truck bay, is a place where Firefighters solve the world’s problems over a cup of coffee.

FAST Call with Southline
Seneca Hose Company #1, February 21
On Friday morning, Seneca Hose was requested to provide mutual aid to Southline for a structure fire. Ladder 6 responded to the scene as the Rapid Intervention Crew (RIC).

Working “On Air”
February 18
During tonight’s drill, members practiced working "On Air," which refers to using air-powered tools.
The training included an overview of the Paratech working air cart, Paratech airbags, and all pneumatic tools found on Rescue 5. Seneca Hose is equipped with a large complement of Paratech high-pressure airbags due to the high hazard presented by large commercial vehicles that frequently travel through ... Winter Safety Tips!

As winter continues, the fire prevention team offers important safety reminders for all community members.
With extremely cold temperatures expected in the area, take extra care when using space heaters. Always plug space heaters directly into a wall outlet, never into an extension cord or power strip. Make sure to keep a clear space around the heater, free of any items that could catch fire.

Seneca Hose is proud to announce the upgrade and expansion to our EMS program
Seneca Hose Company #1, January 14
The board of Fire Commissioners have purchased 7 Physio Control LIFEPAK CR2 AEDs, this will ensure each apparatus now has an AED increasing access to higher quality care during critical incidents. Members will be completing training on these over the next week.
These new AED will be compatible to operate in conjunction with our new lifepak 35 cardiac monitor set for delivery in the upcoming months.... (Full Story & Photos)
